The reciprocating sliding valve vacuum pump, VS/VSW series, has sufficient mechanical strength based on years of experience and is designed with a focus on durability and maintainability. The main crank groove is supported by four conical roller bearings, and the eccentric crank mechanism for valve drive is also supported by ball bearings, allowing for easy adjustment and replacement. Adequate wall thickness (machining allowance) is set to consider the regrinding of the cylinder and valve surfaces. The inner surface of the cylinder has sufficient wall thickness machining allowance to allow for several borings and can accommodate special uses such as thermal spraying of wear-resistant alloys and press-fitting of sleeves. Similarly, the sliding surface of the valve also has sufficient re-cutting allowance, allowing for the application of wear-resistant and corrosion-resistant alloy coatings.
